Samsung Health gains revolutionary features!

As artificial intelligence models continue to impact every aspect of our lives, they have also started to strengthen the core applications of world-renowned technology giants: Samsung’s health and wellness platform, Samsung Health, is about to receive three major updates that will elevate user experience to the next level. With these AI-powered updates, the tech giant aims to expand the scope of the application.

Samsung Health is now more powerful with AI!

One of the most striking features introduced with the update is the barcode scanning system, which simplifies food tracking. Users can now scan the barcodes of foods and beverages with their phones to automatically record the calorie values and detailed nutritional information.

The QR code food tracking feature is made possible through a collaboration with the popular food tracking platform fatsecret. The feature is currently available in the US and some select European countries, with plans to expand to other regions soon.

Significant improvements are also being made in medication tracking. The medication tracking feature, which was added to the platform last year, now includes a camera-based system for scanning and automatically recognizing medicine boxes.

Thanks to KPIC integration in South Korea, the system provides warnings about medications that should not be used during pregnancy. In the US, a partnership with Elsevier will inform users about over 960 allergies and possible complications. In India, a collaboration with Tata 1mg will facilitate easy access to medication supply.

The third major update to Samsung Health is the integration of health records. Through partnerships with leading electronic health record systems in the US, such as B.well Connected Health, users will be able to access hospital and clinic records directly through the app. Agreements with key healthcare institutions like Athenahealth, Cerner Health, Epic Systems, and Veradigm aim to provide users with meaningful insights and important health alerts.

While these updates may not seem to concern us much at the moment, we predict that the system, which allows users to efficiently track their medication, will be widely adopted globally once it becomes more common.
